LG G Watch R Preview

LG G Watch R Preview

The LG G Watch R is one of the first smartwatches powered by Android Wear and comes with its stylish looks and smooth, speedy performance. The world’s first watch-style wearable to feature a fully circular Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display, the G Watch R was inspired by classical and premium timepieces. The 1.3-inch circular P-OLED display takes advantage of every pixel, producing images with stunning colour and accurate viewing at all angles, even under bright sunlight.

Different people expect a watch to mean certain things- some might want to make a fashion statement; fitness people need it to be a tracker, while others want it to be valuable. So LG is back with the G Watch R which is probably the undisputed winner of the beauty pageant, albeit dwarfing even the biggest wrists. But it comes with changeable straps, so you don’t have to get bored of the same look.

It looks like a spin-off of the standard diving watch. Even the bezel is numbered, and the winding key is basically the power button. The power button concept was a welcome idea especially after the pitiable situation in the G Watch which needed a charger to be turned back on once you turned it off. It has loads of perks like tracking lunar cycles and an altitude measurer that’s going to make those hikers out there really happy. The 410mAh battery life is promised to be two days (which feels like a bit on the lower side) but since LG is trying to slim down the watch as much as possible, a micro USB or a wireless charging slot would backfire. For touching the full two days, you’re going to need the standby mode a lot which, courtesy the plastic OLED, draws only 10 per cent of the full power. The screen is otherwise pretty bright with 300nits. But that’s a pretty satisfactory reserve of power to draw upon.

Designed and built to last, the LG G Watch R features a classic design encased in durable stainless steel and aluminum powered by a 410mAh battery, the largest in an Android Wearable to date. Like the original LG G Watch, the G Watch R delivers optimal performance through its powerful but efficient 1.2GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 processor with 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM. With an Ingress Protection rating of IP67, the device is completely protected from dust and water resistant for up to 30 minutes at a maximum depth of one metre. The G Watch R, designed with personalisation in mind, is compatible with any 22mm wide watch strap.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, 4GB storage, 512 MB RAM and 4.0 Bluetooth gives it a pretty smooth functioning, giving you an overall good experience from the smartwatch. The premium looks combined with a host of good features gelling together smoothly is a good enough reason for you to get it.

LG G PAD 7.0 REVIEW

LG G PAD 7.0 REVIEW

The Android powered LG G Pad 7.0 is famous for its price tag and satisfactory specs. Who would want to miss such an affordable tablet with decent performance and stats?

It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with LG’s Optimus software on top. A vivid 7 inch 1280×800 screen, excellent audio quality and an outstanding battery life is all it provides at a reasonable rate of around $150. The G Pad comes with 8GB internal memory which can be expanded to 32GB with a micro SD card.

Apart from the standard apps, this tablet provides interesting apps like the Qpair that helps you sync your Android mobile with the pad, QuickRemote that turns your pad into a programmable remote for your TV and cable boxes and QuickMemo+ where you can save reminders, weather and location data. The Optimus skin introduces unique changes to the Android user interface. The pad boasts a pretty perfect color accuracy and saturation, although its color spectrum is comparatively limited.

The split screen mode allows you to work on two windows simultaneously and is an added advantage. LG has provided certain additional changes like the fourth virtual menu button at the bottom right corner, QSlide bar in the notifications drawer which helps in launching select apps and KnockOn that wakes up the tablet when you tap the display twice.

LG Pad 7.0 will be equipped with LG’s signature security feature, LG Knock Code ™, a new way of waking and unlocking mobile devices

That one factor causing disappointment is the camera quality. Images are grainy without much detail, especially in the close-up pictures. On the positive side, it has got epic battery life that beats all its competition. So if you wante one long-lasting Android tablet, this one seems a fine choice!

LG all-in-one sound bar makes its debut at CES 2014

Pedestal-style sound bars are big news at the moment and LG have upped their game with their latest addition.  The LG LAB540W Sound Plate is designed to sit under your TV, but unlike its predecessors, it comes with a wireless subwoofer and a built-in Blu-ray player.

The 1.56″ tall sound machine is designed to fit snugly beneath TVs with screens measuring 32″- 55″. LG designed it as a 320-watt, 4.1 channel speaker system and one is unlikely to get anything better in this size and design. The addition of a wireless subwoofer has helped this sound bar stand out since the best available pedestal models remain low even with dedicated subwoofers.

The integrated 3D capable Blu-ray player and the built-in Wi-Fi expose us to LG’s Smart TV suite of streaming media apps. There’s also built-in Bluetooth, for wireless audio streaming from nearly any device. Thus, it is clear that you can add as many features to your device as possible but without the main purpose accomplished it’s just a showcase.

Samsung’s 85" Bendy TV vs. LG’s 77" curved OLED TV

Samsung’s 85″ Bendy TV vs. LG’s 77″ curved OLED TV

As anticipated CES 2014 was a display of jaw-dropping brilliance with the top electronics manufacturers racing to present their marvels. This year saw a clash between the two Korean giants: LG and Samsung.

Samsung’s 85- Bendy TV-PING

It seemed as though Samsung weren’t satisfied at only realising their 105″ curved TV.  They also showed off a concept television that can bend via remote control. The 85″ UHD model can change from a flatscreen to a curved screen at the flick of a switch.  The South Korean company stated that the curved screen offered a wider field of view and panoramic effect; a similar effect to that used by IMAX.

Two motors on the side of the TV controlled by remote control determine the curvature, taking into account the number of people enjoying the TV.

No price has yet been announced. As a piece of technology it’s definitely interesting but it’s solving a problem that doesn’t really exist.

LG’s 77- inch curved OLED TV-PING

Their rival LG had already created a curved TV, but the angle was fixed. For them, it wasn’t just to build a 77″ 4K TV with a curved screen, but also to upgrade the display technology by adding a fourth sub-pixel to the display. While most TVs have three sub pixels (RGB), the new TV set adds a fourth white one (WRGB). It’s the first time that this new technology has been applied to a 4K set. The set also has LG’s Tru Ultra engine and is compatible with HDCP 2.2 as well as high-resolution videos in the H.265 format. Price-wise it will be ready and waiting for inclusion in your living room by this summer for a whopping £18,300.

LG G2 Smartphone features, price and review

LG G2 Smartphone features, price and review

In today’s world there are various kinds of smart-phones available to you. To name a few, you have Samsung Galaxy S, Xperia Z, iPhone 5s, Droid and many more. Following these major companies LG has also decided to be part of this extravaganza. If the G and G Pro model wasn’t enough you have the LG G2 already tempting the smart-phone users.

Since the smart-phones are readily available nowadays and powered by almost the same hardware or operating system, it is getting much harder to stand out from rest of the competition. Using a bigger screen or adding more RAM or a powerful processor is just not enough anymore to help a product stand out.

LG G2 Music-PING

Couple of changes has been announced for the new G2 model. To name a few, you have three buttons on the back, the screen size is little over 5 inches, 1080p full HD graphics, and few other enhancements.
