Twitter Redesigns Homepage to Make Desktop More Visually Appealing
Twitter has redesigned its homepage to give users a more ‘mobile-friendly’ feel. Although the changes come just three months after Twitter redesigned their log-in page, they were eager to make the desktop version more visually appealing.
Twitter intends to give desktop users more choice when browsing their profile. The new features include a white tool bar running along the top of the page, a larger font beneath the user’s profile image and the option to add more colour to their homepage. Users can change the colour of the compose box and navigation icons by choosing the ‘Design’ tab in their ‘Settings’.
Users are also able to view their cover photo behind their profile picture. Although this is already accessible in the mobile version, this is the first time the desktop homepage has had this option. According to a Twitter spokesperson, the new desktop design should be available to everyone in the ‘…coming days…’
