Everyday injuries such as muscle pulls, sprains and spasms are a part of our daily lives.  Sometimes, these injuries can get in the way of us living our lives normally. In some cases, the injuries can get worse or become a chronic problem.  A group of four mechanical engineers understood the need of an innovation to help people dealing with such injuries and thus designed the Titan Arm.  Titan Arm is an exoskeleton for the upper-body that strengthens the human body by working as a support for users and doctors.

The suit was developed for extensive use in occupational lifting, physical therapy and mobility assistance.

Inspiration

We all know people who have suffered a back or arm injury and are living with the damage, whether temporary or permanent.  The main objective of Titan Arm is to empower people to reclaim their self-respect. Titan is priced at $2,000 making it accessible to many and much cheaper than the exoskeletons currently on the market.

Development

Titan Arm was developed over eight months using a number of studies and a lot of research, both technical and market.  Several physical prototypes were produced using CAD software coupled with 3D printing techniques and CNC machining.  Finally, all the various systems were integrated to craft a functioning prototype of wearable technology.
